A short review of plagiarism checking tools

In the digital age where information is abundant and easily accessible, the issue of plagiarism has become more prevalent than ever. As writers, educators, and content creators strive to maintain integrity and originality in their work, the need for reliable plagiarism detection tools has become indispensable. In this blog article, we delve into a concise review of several online plagiarism detection tools, exploring their features, effectiveness, and user-friendliness. Whether you're a student aiming to ensure the authenticity of your academic papers or a professional seeking to protect the originality of your content, this review aims to provide valuable insights to help you make informed decisions in selecting the right tool for your needs.

Long story short, I was looking to see if plagiarism-checking tools would find GPT-generated content objectionable. And they didn't. I've checked several:

And others that I do not mention here because I do not recommend them. But one checker said... that the text is plagiarized! And lo and belold, that one checker (grammarly) wanted me to create a "free" account. Here's a screenshot:

grammarly lies to you about plagiarism

And there you have it: grammarly lies to you about plagiarism. They'll say whatever necessary to convince you to create an account with them. Did my GPT-generated text have plagiarism? I'm pretty sure it didn't. And how would I be able to trust grammarly, if I were using it? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't.

Therefore I would recommend one of the two resources I linked above, as honest tools for checking plagiarism. Whether you're a student striving for academic excellence or a professional dedicated to producing high-quality content, investing in one of these trusted resources is a prudent choice for safeguarding your credibility and ensuring the integrity of your writing.
